QR Codes
What is a 2D or QR Code?
A QR Code is a two-dimensional (2D) digital image that contains specific information readable by mobile devices, phones, smart phones.
How Can I get QR Codes?
There are several free code generators on the web. Or, if you want to organize a marketing campaign with printed materials, product and web (or any combination thereof), our contact information is below.
Who’s using QR Codes?
QR Codes are trendy and hot right now. Just some of the national and international companies using QR Codes include: Calvin Klein, Google (yes, the Big G!), Ralph Lauren, Realtors, Pepsi-Cola, Green Day (band), wine companies, jewelers, and the list goes on.
Why would someone want to use a QR Code?
Because this unique bar code can contain a website URL, text information, your business card and contact information, a coupon, sale notification, and virtually any type of information you want to convey with ease – instantly to your customer’s mobile device.
How are QR Codes used and what can I do with them?
They can be used to market or convey any message - on just about anything. They are currently used in national magazine and newspaper ads, online, on t-shirts, mugs, bottles, billboard ads, posters, fliers and brochures, and they can be put on just about anything. (Yes, I’ve even seen qr code tattoos.)
How Do they work?
- Any mobile phone or device that has a camera can “read” a QR code with the right app, and most of the apps are free and available on all mobile phones. Some phones already have software installed to scan and read codes. Just go to your app store and search for “QR Reader” or “QR Code”. There are numerous free reader apps that you can download in seconds. The readers are available for Androids, Blackberry, and iPhones. I use I-nigma on my iPhone – it’s my favorite.
- When you see a QR Code, use you phone’s app to scan or read it. Whatever that code contains will instantly display on your phone, or if it’s a website or URL, you’ll quickly be taken to that page. Do you see the power in that?!
